Tribal Earth Summer Festival 2024

15th - 18th August 2024, near Lewes, East Sussex

This year marks Tribal Earth Festival’s 26th anniversary, and the festival goes above and beyond to make this one the most impressive yet! Over two decades of supporting numerous charities by featuring outstanding performers and workshops – now that is something worth celebrating. Tribal Earth wants to ensure that the 2024 edition will be unique. It’ll take place at Laughton Lodge in Laughton, East Sussex, from 15th to 18th August 2024.

A passionate team of volunteers spearheads the operations at Tribal Earth, and all profits are donated to The Clock Tower Sanctuary. This charity assists homeless youths in Brighton and Hove. In 1998, some generous folks from local churches fought against street homelessness by creating The Clock Tower Sanctuary – now, more than twenty years later, their mission is still ongoing! With the same values and mission, this community-run festival has stayed true to its roots.

The festival strives to prevent vulnerable youth from becoming homeless in the long run. The vision is strong–they want all young people without homes to be provided with encouragement, support, and inspiration so that they can reach their highest potentials and create meaningful transformation within themselves.

Many Tribal Earth folk love the festival for its workshops and they run all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can start the morning with yoga, qi gong, pranayama, kirtan, or laughter yoga. You can learn to play the kora (African harp) bodrhan (Irish drum) the penny whistle or learn Irish Singing. If you want to get your body moving there are plenty of dance sessions too, Indian, African and Belly Dance. Or you join the incredible 5 Rhythms workshop where you will be guided through patterns, waves and rhythms of movement to still the mind and energise the body – backed by live music from aLive.

Drum circles have always been an exciting part of Tribal Earth. It’s a great way to connect to community through hypnotic and energetic rhythm and there are groups for beginners and seasoned djembe players alike.

If you are looking to wind down, Tribal Earth is definitely the place to be. The wellbeing area offers a host of therapies from Reiki, Indian Head Massage, Acupuncture and Aromatherapy to Art Therapy. You can relax in the sound garden, chat or listen to musicians around the fire, do a bit of shopping at the many stalls, have a sauna or hot shower, eat sumptuous vegetarian food in the cafes, or immerse yourself in the Tribal Earth sound bath and let the vibrations of gongs, didgeridoo, Tibetan singing bowls and Tanpura wash over you.

Tribal Earth is the perfect festival to bring the kids as well with a professional run Kid’s Area that hosts fun games and activities that will keep them happy all day.

Tribal Earth is organised and run by a group of volunteers with all profits donated to The Clock Tower Sanctuary (Charity No 114677) supporting homeless young people in Brighton and Hove. Their mission is to prevent young people from becoming part of the long-term homeless in this area and reduce this sad and ever increasing situation. Their vision is that all homeless young people are encouraged, supported, challenged and inspired to develop their full potential and transform their lives.
